Tech Kidz Africa Launches Pi-Education Through Fundraising Bike-athon in Celebration of International Day of the African Child
In celebration of the International Day of the African Child and the official launch of the Elimu-Pi Fundraising Bike-a-thon, Tech Kidz Africa has launched an
fundraiser designed to provide affordable robotics and other technological resources to children in Africa. These facilities aim to support and develop their creative potential and contribute to Africa's technological development.
This bike-a-thon is in line with this year's International Day of the African Child theme, 'Education for all African children: the time is now'. This program supports the fourth Sustainable Development Goal and develops Kenya's ICT policy as well as the efforts of the Ministry of Education (MOE) to integrate ICT into education. By providing affordable technological resources and increasing teachers' knowledge, skills and abilities about technology, quality education and lifelong learning opportunities are promoted"The African child faces many challenges that prevent him from participating in the creative journey," says Paul Akwabi, Founder and Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Tech Kidz Africa. "Our goal is to bridge this gap by providing essential technological resources to every child in Africa at low or no cost."
:
The goal of raising funds is to distribute these devices in large quantities to ensure that children from various backgrounds have the opportunity to develop important skills.
The Bike-a-thon will take place from September 2 to September 12, 2024, and will have stops in Voi, Makueni, Machakos, and finally Nairobi. At each station, there will be training sessions on robots, software, cyber security, and cyber security. They also aim to campaign to produce clean energy to reduce the impact on the environment and combat climate change.
Tech Kidz Africa is looking for sponsors and partners to help achieve the goals of the bike-a-thon and the Pi-Education program. Sponsorships can take many forms, including financial donations, provision of technological resources, and strategic support for the bike-a-thon.
